Harry Potter was no ordinary boy. He was a magical wizard and the most famous of all. For he had defeated and then had been forced to help bring back Lord Voldemort. At the moment Harry was laying in his bed at 4 Privet Dr. the smallest bedroom. Harry was 16 and he was going into his 6th year at Hogwarts Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry was sleeping but when he woke he didn't know where he was.

What was weird was he was surrounded by prairie or open plains. And somehow he had his wand with him and was wearing robes. Around him he saw Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, Ginny Weasley, and the Weasley twins Fred and George. Beside them stood horses; one for each, guns slung over saddle horns and clothes.

Harry rubbed his eyes and stood up. If he wasn't mistaken they'd gone back in time. And this wasn't England it was America what looked like the Old West of America. His friends woke up around him and were also confused.


"Hey Lou who do ya think all them riders are?" Kid asked sometime later as he, Lou, Jimmy, Buck, Cody, and Ike walked their horses across the open plains.

"Dunno but their still sleeping. They look like a bunch of kids. Lets go see if they need help," Lou answered leading the way to the group of horses and kids.


"Harry, there's riders coming this way," Hermione said nervously drawing her wand. Harry nodded and pulled out his own wand. He was scared but he didn't let them see it.

"Guys get on the horses leave me a good one," Harry told them.

Ron, led the group to the horses and they mounted up. Hermione however stayed beside Harry. "I'll help you."

"Hey y'all need some help?" Kid asked pulling his horse to a stop.

"Kind of," Harry answered.

"Well I'm Kid this is Lou McCloud, Buck Cross, James Hickok known as Jimmy, William F. Cody, known as Cody, and Ike McSwain. We're Pony Express riders Sweetwater station. Would you kids like to come back with us?" Kid told him vaulting from Katy's back.

"Sure, I'm Harry Potter, this is Hermione Granger, Fred and George Weasley, Ginny Weasley, Ron Weasley, Sirius Black and Remus Lupin," Harry took the horses that Ron brought to him. He handed a bay gelding to Hermione and he got on the Appaloosa mare.

"Let's ride," Jimmy spoke.

'Yaw!" Cody shouted kicking his horse, Spoke to the lead. The horses all started to gallop most of Harry's group struggling to hold on. Sometime later they slowed the horses to a walk and Harry walked his mount up beside Kid.

"Have there been any unexplained deaths lately?"

"Yes but there was no way they could've died, and their houses were destroyed."

"Does anyone know who did it?"

"Sam Cain can help you there."

Harry exchanged glances with Sirius they both knew that they may have followed Voldemort here. If so that could be bad, real bad. With these people Voldemort could cause a lot of destruction. Once they arrived at the Sweetwater station the group dismounted and tied their horses to hitching posts.

Teaspoon Hunter looked at them confused he'd never seen those kids before or the two adults they were with.



Sometime later Teaspoon listened as Sirius gave an explanation about what had happened. "We were transported back in time and we don't know why. We think Voldemort is behind it but we don't know and we hope not. You see he was once the most feared wizard and returned in power and strength worse then before. Your whole world is in danger mortis."

"Your sure about this. If your right the man killing people might just might be your Voldemort. Sam has a sketch of what the man looks like. One of my riders can take you. Please be careful, the townspeople will be suspicious of a group of strangers," Teaspoon sighed.

"I'll go," Cody and Jimmy announced in unison.

"All right but stay out of trouble," Teaspoon told them. The two riders nodded and led the Hogwarts group out. They all remounted and rode towards town.

"Could we see some spells?" Jimmy asked.
"Sure, here's one," Harry pulled out his wand and muttered "Lumos." Which made his wand light up against the dawning sky.

"Amazing," Cody thought.



Two days later Teaspoon walked to where Harry sat with his friends. "How would you all like to ride with the Pony Express? Just until you get rid of Voldemort and go home," Teaspoon looked at them.

"Sure," Ron grinned.

"Ok I'll send one each out with a different rider. Harry you'll go with Kid, Hermione with Lou, Ron with Jimmy, Fred with Buck, George with Cody and Ginny with Ike. Sorry Sirius, Remus y'all can help us here," Teaspoon told them.

"That's ok we're to old to go on runs," Remus muttered.

"Windguardim Leviosia!" George made a rock fly into the air. It was obvious he was bored and Fred was playing with a Rifle shooting at birds sometimes bringing one down. The birds made Teaspoon happy as it was food they could use.

"I'll see you later," Teaspoon left.

"Rider comin Lou, Hermione yer up!" Emma Shannon called.

Hermione left and mounted her bay which she'd named Boomer and Lou mounted Lightning. The girls rode off after Lou caught the mail from the other rider.



Days later the friends were all sitting around listening to Cody read aloud a dime store novel. The Hogwarts group who'd never heard something like it were really interested. The others however weren't really listening. But when Jimmy's name appeared in the book Cody mentioned to him. Jimmy frowned and came over

"Listen to this," Cody told him. "James B. Hickok looked at the whimpering cowpoke and said get out no one needs you here you filthy scum!"

"Great more trouble," Buck sighed.

"Riders comin!" Teaspoon hollered. Harry and Kid went to their horses; Katy and Heaven and mounted. When suddenly from the air a white bird flew downwards straight to Harry.

"Hedwig!" Harry held out his arm and his beloved snowy white owl landed on his arm. He untied the letter that was on her leg. "How'd you get here?"

"What's that?" Kid asked.

"This is Hedwig my owl." Harry stroked the bird whom set off in the direction of the bunkhouse where Ron gave her some bread crumbs. Harry opened the letter and read;

Help is on the way

Prof. Dumbledore.

"Let's go," Harry stuck the letter in his pocket.

Kid nodded and the friends galloped off. Riding a horse was so much more different then riding his broom or even riding Buckbeak, the Hippogriff Hagrid had had in their third year at Hogwarts. Buckbeak now was Sirius's but hadn't made it to this time and place.


Meanwhile Hermione looked around looking for Sirius or Professor Lupin. She found them with Teaspoon. "Sirius," Hermione called.

"Yea?" Sirius turned to the girl whom he'd grown to love as a daughter.

"It's You-know-who. He tried to kill me and Lou on the ride but," Hermione stopped.

"What Hermione?" Professor Lupin looked at the teenager.

"Well it's just this I pulled out my gun and," Hermione took a deep breath and looked for Lou. Lou stood beside the other girl and nodded at her.

"Go on," Sirius urged.

"I killed him. I shot him in the head and then in his heart to make sure he was dead. That's it he's gone he's done there's no more to worry about him," Hermione shuddered.

"Where's his body?" Professor Lupin asked.

"We'll take you," Lou offered. "I'll get us fresh horses and put Boomer and Lightning away."

"Thanks and could you get my paint mare; Fury for me?" Sirius asked.

"I'll get Fury and Lady," Professor Lupin told him. "I do know how to saddle horses." Lupin followed Lou to the barn where he gathered Fury and Lady and quickly saddled them while Lou saddled Thunder, a spare horse, and Jake, Kid's black horse.

"Here Sirius," Remus led the horses out and handed Fury to Sirius. He mounted Lady and waited while Lou, Hermione, and Sirius followed suit.

"Follow me," Lou told them. "Even though Hermione knows where the body is I know the trails better so I can get you there on short cuts.

"Here, take an extra horse so you can bring back the body," Teaspoon handed them Lucky, his little filly.

"Thanks," Lou nodded at her 'father'. (Teaspoon isn't the riders' father but he's their mentor and is therefore like their father because they are all orphans)

Lou nudged Jake into a lope with Lucky in a lead line behind them attacked to the saddle.


Meanwhile at Hogwarts Professor Dumbledore couldn't believe it. Harry, and his friends had gone back in time to chase and hopefully destroy Voldemort once and for all. He looked at a picture of Harry, Hermione, and Ron. Last year during their fifth year they'd been dubbed the Trio. Harry, Professor Dumbledore admitted in thought was his favorite student. The boy was so much like his father always ready to help in a sticky situation even if it meant risking his own life to save his friends.

"Professor?" Minerva McGonagall, the Transfiguration and head of Gryffindor knocked to enter his office.

"Yes Minerva?" Albus Dumbledore looked up from starring at the picture.

"The school year starts in� two weeks and I need to know if you've chosen the students so I can send out the letters," Professor McGonagall told him.

"Here," he handed the list of new 1st years to her. There were also older students; transfers she guessed.

"We have transfers?" Professor McGonagall asked.

"Yeah their in Harry's year and some in the Weasley twins' year," Professor Dumbledore answered.

"Names?"

"Twins; Ashleigh and Brandon Wildecliffe, Rachel Locket, Laura Black, but she's called Amy, Natillie Porter comes from the same school as the twins, Elizabeth Maybell and Keavey O'Neil. Rachel is in year seven."

"Well and have you heard anything about Mr. Potter?"

"It's happened Minerva. Harry and his friends have gone back in time and changed places to chase Voldemort," Dumbledore sighed.

"Oh no who went?"

"Harry, Hermione, Ron, Fred and George, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and Ginny."


"It's just around this bend," Lou told them as they swerved around a wavy part of the trail. There before them laid Lord Voldemort's corpse. However there were people surrounding him. If Sirius wasn't mistaken there was Lily and James Potter.

"Lily? James?" Sirius asked?

"Hey buddy," James faced him.

"Your dead,' Remus looked confused.

"No we're not you see when he killed us he didn't have enough life in him to kill a human the way he was he couldn't kill we don't know why but we've always been alive just no one knew it. Punch me and you'll know that we are flesh."

So Remus and Sirius dismounted and punched James. James was right he was indeed real and alive. The hugged like brothers had never hugged before.� "Lily," Remus greeted James' wife warmly.

"Hiya Sirius, Remus, and you must be Hermione," Lily greeted them looking them over.

"This is Lou," Hermione told her.

"Nice to meet ya Lou," Lily shook hands with Lou. She embraced Sirius and Remus and then turned to Hermione. "You taking care of Harry?"

"Trying to," Hermione blushed.

"You better be," Lily teased. "And does he behave himself?"

"No he breaks all the school rules, but the Dursleys' treat him real awful," Hermione muttered.

"Where is he?" James asked.

Hermione explained about the Pony Express and Kid and their other new friends. She told them what was going on.

"Let's go back, everyone," Hermione looked at all the people Voldemort had tried to kill. Cedric Diggory was standing before her.

Sirius and Remus mounted their horses. Sirius pulled James up behind him and Remus pulled Lily up. Cedric climbed up behind Hermione and one more sat behind Lou. Another took Voldemort's body and laid him across the saddle of Teaspoon's filly and climbed up behind the body.

The others walked behind them. The left moving slowly but they only had two and a half miles to their house.�


"Kid I need some advice," Harry looked at Kid as they walked their horses letting them rest.

"What kind?" Kid looked over at him.

"About girls."

"I can try."

"Well I think I like Hermione more then just a friend but I don't know how to tell her or show her."

"Why don't you talk to Sirius he's your godfather I'm sure he'll try and help you."

"Thanks I just don't know what he'll say."

"Let's gallop we have 15 minutes to go the horses are rested enough," Kid changed the subject. Harry nodded and whistled at his horse who galloped off; Kid and Katy close beside them.
